Fuji S5100

Since I haven’t gotten a chance to process photos from Antelope Canyon yet, I thought I’d share this cute picture of our dog Dobby at the park. :)

The Laughing Camel

by Kristi Hines

There’s nothing like catching an animal at the right time, kind of like this shot of a camel who looks like he just heard a great joke…

Counting Tree Rings

by Kristi Hines

Who knew the that counting tree rings could be such a colorful experience? This bright tree stump was on Mt. Lemmon in Tucson, Arizona.

This shot was taken on a lovely, sunny day at the Desert Botanical Gardens in Phoenix, Arizona. The vividly colorful Chihuly glass art that was on display in in 2009 created a brilliant contrast to the surrounding desert.

Out of Focus on the Beach

by Kristi Hines

You know how sometimes, you take a photo planning to do one thing, but then it comes out completely different? This is one of those shots. It was pre-HDR and pre-Nikon, and all I wanted to do was get a closeup of the little thing on the sand. But what I captured was the beautiful sky in the background instead…

Prairie Dog Portrait

by Kristi Hines

Since last week ended on a bit of a sad note with the slow deconstruction of my first urbex shooting location, I thought this week we’d start off with something cute! Say hello to Mr. (or Mrs.) Prairie Dog that decided to hop up and pose for this shot!

Standing Tall

by Kristi Hines

One of the first road trips my husband and I made together was to Mt. Lemmon near Tucson, Arizona. There were lots of great trails to hike, and great trees to photograph. It was before I had an appreciation for just how awesome clouds were in photos, but luckily I took advantage of them when I had the chance.

Here’s Looking at You

by Kristi Hines

I wish I had something a bit more patriotic this Memorial Day for all of my visitors in the US, but my hubby managed to get the best shot for today during our quick trip to Fountain Hills.

Also, for those of you following my tweets, you know that we went on a nice little urbex adventure over the weekend. I’ll be posting shots from this outing starting tomorrow – still in processing mode!

Who couldn’t be happy once they discovered this little guy peeking his head around dry blades of grass to say hello week, I am ready for you!

Sunflower Wedding

by Kristi Hines

When my husband and I got married, our wedding theme revolved around sunflowers. The morning of the wedding, I decided to take a few flowers out of the pile and experiment with a little photography of our wedding jewelry. I thought this one came out the best.
