Water always seems to be the calmest in the morning, which led to this serene moment where I could see the fall colors reflecting in the nearby stream.

This was the scene of my first camping experience in the beautiful campgrounds of Lo Lo Mai Springs outside of Sedona, Arizona. For anyone looking for a place to camp in that area, I would definitely recommend this place, especially during the fall. The colors around the campgrounds were absolutely gorgeous! More photos from this area to come next week!
Thanks Chris Frailey for sharing the photos of raccoons from here!

This past weekend, my husband and I took a trip out to Jerome, AZ for another visit to the Gold King Ghost Mine Town. Along the way, while scoping out a way to get to an urbex scene down the hill, I looked up and noticed what remained of the fall colors in the town.

That’s right, I’m still stuck on the fall colors. I was hoping to get some shooting done in California this past weekend around my trip to Blog World, but the weather on the drive back was none to pleasing, so that idea was a bust. So much for the Salton Sea.

It’s not often you see something creepy during the day, but when the light in the woods falls just the right way, you’ll find it. In this case, it was a hollowed-out tree stump in the midst of the lovely fall colors. I had hoped to find an owl sleeping in it, but oh well.

One of the things I really enjoy about going handheld is seeing things I might normally notice, such as the beauty of the fallen leaves. Mixed with the rocks, it felt very zen-like.

This is probably one of the most photographed natural wonders in Sedona… and it’s easy to see why. There are just so many sides to photograph it from!
