Sweet Magnolia

by Kristi Hines on September 8, 2011 · Australia, Melbourne

I’m a product of the South, from good ole Mississippi. So imagine my surprise when I was halfway across the world and I found my state’s flower, the magnolia, in Australia of all unlikely places.

We’ve got Magnolia’s in our backyard, and it’s one of our FAVORITE trees! Awesome shot here Kristi, I love it!

What an outstanding shot! I just wish you had captured the scent as well! Ha! Ha! Who knows, maybe one day we will be able to “smell the flowers” … on the screen. Reminded me of when arrived in Key West Florida and I “expected” to find Frangipanis and did not. A couple of months later I was walking along and there at my feet was a petal… I looked up and I was standing beneath a huge frangipani tree! It was spring! Silly me, I had arrived in December when no frangipanis bloom in USA!
